The field of Textile and Apparel Engineering is entirely technological and practical

The head of the Textile Engineering Department at Amirkabir University of Technology announced the annual admission of 100 students in the field of Textile Engineering, stating, "Fortunately, the job market for graduates in Textile Engineering is promising, to the extent that the textile industry consistently expresses its need for personnel, and there is a shortage of workforce available for employment in this industry."
According to the public relations report of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Mohammad Amani Tehran, during the introduction ceremony of the Textile Engineering Department for the 1402 entrances and the acknowledgment of outstanding students from the 1398 to 1401 entrances, addressed the three dimensions of understanding the department. He stated that the first dimension involves students knowing what the field of Textile Engineering entails and recognizing the environment they are entering as newcomers. Therefore, students should acquire sufficient awareness of their academic discipline.
He continued by stating, "The second dimension involves understanding the physical characteristics of the Textile Engineering Department in terms of space, facilities, laboratories, etc., and students should acquire the necessary information in this regard. Finally, the third dimension relates to recognizing the faculty members of the university, and new students should obtain sufficient understanding from these three dimensions."
The head of the Textile Engineering Department at Amirkabir University of Technology emphasized that students should initiate research and exploration about themselves, the department, and their field of study from the beginning of their university journey. He highlighted the importance of understanding the student's role and suggested that being aware of this aspect allows students to effectively utilize the resources, faculty, and time during their four years of education. Considering that the ages between 17 and 26 are considered the best and most golden period of an individual's life, he encouraged students to make the most of this golden opportunity during their university years.
Amani emphasized, "Amirkabir University of Technology offers various engineering disciplines, but I assert that Textile Engineering requires the highest level of knowledge and technology. In this field, we aim for the highest level of expertise compared to other disciplines such as mechanical and chemical engineering. It's important to note that the complexity in the field of textiles was never imagined before. Therefore, students in this field can become proficient in computer engineering, chemistry, mechanics, and more."

He further noted, "Textile Engineering and Apparel is a highly technological and practical field. Students in this discipline need to understand where they stand and what they need to do. Accordingly, they should make good use of the resources provided by the university."

Dr. Amani emphasized that, "The Textile Engineering Department has significant strength and is one of the five engineering departments at Amirkabir University of Technology since its establishment. Alongside disciplines like electrical engineering and computer science, it has been recognized that Textile Engineering is highly important."

He added, "Fortunately, students at Amirkabir University of Technology, unlike Sharif University, have achieved a prominent position in practical aspects of textile-related fields. The university has attracted great professors, and each of our professors excels in various areas, both nationally and internationally. Even compared to other students, the students of this university are highly technically capable."
The head of the Textile Engineering Department at Amirkabir University of Technology added, "I recommend to the students of Textile Engineering to get to know their professors well and not just aim for an instructor who gives them good grades or makes work-related matters easier. Instead, students should interact with professors who guide them towards development."

Amani emphasized, "From the very first semester, students in Textile Engineering should truly consider the vast spectrum of the textile and apparel industry, ranging from cultivating cotton, breeding silkworms, raising goats and camels, to the petrochemical industry for synthetic fibers and the production of fabrics and garments. They should contemplate the various occupations, positions, roles, etc., and plan accordingly in this journey."

He stated that the textile industries consistently face a shortage of workforce, saying, "Despite a decrease in admissions for Textile Engineering across the country, at Amirkabir University of Technology, we have the capacity to accept 100 new students annually. While some students and graduates in the field may lack the necessary quality for entering the industry, I recommend that students in this field start making efforts from today."

It's worth mentioning that Dr. Fatemeh Mousazadegan, the Deputy for Student Affairs, Academic, and Cultural Affairs of the department, regarding educational regulations, Dr. Masoud Latifi, regarding the introduction of the industry, the scope of the industry, and the occupational status of graduates in this field. Engineer Majid Nami, as a successful graduate of the textile industry, delivered remarks during this ceremony.

The event concluded with acknowledgement of the top 21 students from the Textile Engineering Department’s 1398 to 1401 entrances.
