Dr. Mohammad Jawad Dehghani, director of the Islamic World Science Citation Center, said: The Leiden ranking system released its results of the rankings for the world's top universities in 2019. In his year's ranking, 26 universities from Iran were among the 963 top universities in the world, while in 2018 this number was 23. Dr. Dehghani added: Iran, as in previous years, has ranked first among the Islamic countries in terms of the number of top universities. Also, compared to other countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Malaysia,  Iran has had the highest growth in its number of universities in this list.
