The WHO representative in Iran visited Amirkabir University of Technology to explore strategies for joint health cooperation.
According to the public relation of AUT, Christoph Hamelmann, the WHO representative in Iran visited this university’s equipment, facilities, and achievements in the health area to explore strategies for joint cooperation by the hosting of the Health Technology Institute.
Attending a meeting of the top researchers and innovators of the Amirkabir University of Technology at the Technology Tower, Dr. Hamelman expressed hope that he could present the university’s achievements in the field of health to the general public in the world.
He cited the Samsung-Amirkabir Technology Center as a useful institution that helps different people come together with different perspectives and take big steps while developing their own ideas and talents.
The WHO representative talked about this organization’s plan to support start-ups and said: “our general approach in World Health Organization is to support the start-ups that can transform their services to marketable products and the quality and accessibility of these services are enhanced by this way”.
“The structure of the World Health Organization is in a way that doesn’t enable us to invest in a startup, however, we can give extensive consults to them so that startups can deliver their ideas and services as the final product,” said Dr. Hamelmann.
He also asked for another visit to the Amirkabir University of Technology after observing the extensive achievements in the field of health technology and biomedical engineering.
