The Antibacterial and Antiviral Disinfectant Solution Produced and Marketed by One of AUT’s Knowledge-Based Companies

One of the knowledge-based companies of Amirkabir University of Technology which is a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and medical equipment products has produced antibacterial and antiviral disinfectants using nanotechnology and has offered it to market.According to the AUT’s public relations, Dr. Soheyla Salahshour Kordestani, the CEO of Chitotech Company said about the products of her company: “our unite is focused on the production line of tools and surface disinfectants, hand sanitizer, sanitary foams to heal wounds and stop bleeding. It first launched with different applications under the name of "Silvosept" nano-based products in 2007.
She added: "antimicrobial activity of Silvosept products has been proven in careful studies in reference laboratories and clinical researches under international standards.”
Dr. Salahshour Kordestani mentioned these products are now available in the market and said: "these products have no systemic and cellular toxicity, allergic and acute inhalation toxicity, and based on dosage calculation test results, the concentration of their active ingredient is reported in the safe range. She added: "the main ingredient in Silvosept products is silver nanoparticles which its antimicrobial activity is several hundred times more than Silver metal in normal condition.”
