Strengthening the Scientific and Educational Relationship with Chinese Universities and Offering Starting Grants to AUT Professors for Cooperating with Chinese Universities

Dr. Seyed Ahmad Motamedi in the 1st Session of Iran-China Workgroup said: Holding this session is a positive step in building the scientific relationship between these two countries, i.e. Iran and China.
Dr. Motamedi expressed: Our university is included in 4 accredited rankings. It ranks 300 to 600 in the world university ranking and its rank is upgraded every year. On the basis of QS rankings, we ranked 17 for citations.
He said that international relations is the priority of AUT and stated:  We are one of the few universities that has established the Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs. However, we need to plan for cooperation and scientific and educational relations with Asian universities as well.
Dr. Abolghasem Mesgarpour Tousi, Vice-chancellor of International Affairs of AUT, stated: We plan to offer a starting grant to the professor who are active in this field. This grant will be given to professors who cooperate with Chinese universities in the field of science, education, and technology.
Director of Scientific and International Cooperation of AUT expressed: the strategic plan for the cooperation of AUT professor is described as a 5-year program and the professors of Iran-China workgroup were asked to take measures in this regard.
It should be noted that in the 1st session of the Iran-China workgroup of AUT the following were present and discussed issues regarding the international and scientific cooperation of Iran with their Chinese counterparts: Dr. Babak Hossein Khalaj, representative of national authority of scientific cooperation with China, Majidreza Hariri, President of Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Iran and China, Dr. Yousef Hojjat, former Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in China, Japan, and Korea, Mehdi Daneshdoost, Director of International Relations of Center for Progress and Development of Iran, Payam Parsizadeh, President of the Division of International Relations and Diplomacy of Iran National Science Foundation, Dr. Mehdi Nadi, President of Scientific Committee of Iran-China Friendship Association, Dr. Bahram Taheri, President of the Nexus and HSE Center of AUT, Roohollah Bagherzadeh, Faculty Member of AUT.
