Investigating Synchronization in the Neuron Network of the Brain

AUT Researchers investigated synchronization in the chaotic neuron network with multiple coupling with applications in neuroscience and computational sciences.
Shirin Panahi, a graduate of The Amirkabir University of Technology, said, “with the help of computational neuroscience, an opportunity can be created to analyze mechanisms for which no method of empirical validation has been proposed yet. Synchronization is responsible for the performance or the disturbance of motor, cognitive, and memory functions in humans. Synchronization within homogeneous networks is influenced by three factors including the separate dynamics of each system, the overall architecture or structure of the network, and the type and the coupling power coefficient of the network. The overall architecture or structure of the network is considered a major factor in the synchronization of complicated networks.
The project has been supervised by Dr. Sajjad Jafari, a faculty member of The Amirkabir University of Technology.
